April's Dirty Dish

24/7

Hi Everybody,
I'm sorry I've not kept up with my news, it's like I've been on a treadmill for a year! We've been going crazy with just family biz, and the sweetest granddaughters in the world.
Well, this weekend, as some of you may know, we a part of the 24 hour "Jackass" takeover on MTV. It was really fun seeing all the cast members again. Even though Steve-o is always really going for it! When we got to the studio, we were met by Danger Ehrens chemically burn't half bald head, and we were only 1 hr into it! Of course the best idea is finding a safe cubby hole and sticking buy it, and never give out personal info (they will use it against you). We really had a good time, Phil was in the "hot dog eating contest", and actually barfed (only 3rd time since we've been married) a milestone. We hung in for a lot of pranks, and just talking to friends. We actually were maybe the only ones that used our hotel room for a couple hours before returning to make breakfast for people in Times Square. Sunday morning breakfast in a hot dog cart in New York! It was great fun. The final couple hours on air were really tough , especially for Jess and Bam, they looked like hell, and we're living on energy drink. By this time Bam had a huge bruise on his leg from a baseball being pitched at 80 MPH, and burning eyes from methol chew juice?! Jess just looked like he was in a coma and delirious. By the final hour we were ready to jet. What a long day! I had a great time talking to so many people who have either gotten the book and are really using it, to someone that hasn't seen it yet. I hope if you have not gotten the book yet, you will pleasantly surprised by the simple recipes, the stories about alot of the food and how uncomplicated they are.
We are now gearing up for a new show, as Bam is opening up a new theatre club, it should be one hot place with great food. I've been thinking about opening up a cute cafe, maybe I'll be doing a show next?!

Is anyone else going crazy?

Hi Everybody,
Sorry I've not gotten back to all of you, it's just that I've been going crazy! Bam has done alot of things to us, like blowing up the house, ripping doors off, digging moats, and well you know the rest. Little did I know the hardest is the fact that he and Missy decided to get married in early Feb. Trying to get Christmas organized, plan a shower, rehearsal dinners, wedding details, AND..... Jess And Kelly are expecting a sweet little baby in Jan. is all scaring me. What if a big blizzard comes at the same time wedding and baby?! Oh, pray everything works out! I'mm hoping for El Nino! And as we think of Aunts and Uncles, and Grandparents, I worry about what crazy things Bam might be thinking of for this wedding! O.K., have I stressed you out too?
Maybe I'll start baking some cookies, I love to package stuff I bake, add in little fun trinkets I've collected on trips and pack them in little suitcases, or cool boxes. If you know a real Scrooge, mix up some of the Fake Dog Poop recipe, box it up real pretty, and send away! Little do they know it tastes Great! Oh What Fun it is To Send a wrapped up box of Fun!( You can sing this to yourself, while creating) I'd love to chat some more but I've got some Holiday and Wedding plans to Make! Thanks everybody for all your kind words, I'm so glad you love the book, maybe I'll do another book, I still have lots of pictures and recipes!
Take some time to enjoy the Holidays!
Luv, Ape

Surviving Thanksgiving

Well, I hope everybody survived Thanksgiving! We all had a great dinner at Kellyand Jess' this year, and everybody brought a special dish. Kelly did great pies, my Mom made her amazing cheescake(I'll get that recipe to you soon), and I made the Turkey, stuffing, and sweet potatoes. I usually cook dinner at our house, so I got off easy. Now the truth about Thanksgiving is that it IS a guys holiday,(You know it girls!) the guys get waited on, while drinking beer, and watching football. We cook, decorate, serve, and clean-up. Then we get to do this all again in a month, only throw in Christmas cards, presents to wrap, and a whole house to decorate, and they give ALL the credit to a fat guy in a red suit! No wonder kids don't believe past the age of six! I man pulling off all this stuff-NO WAY! O.K., I'm not male bashing, but that's what I see from my view, maybe you have a guy who cooks, and decorates, if so, don't let him outta your sight! Well, I'm off to conquer Christmas. If my car gets rear-ended Christmas could be over, cause it's all in the trunk!
See Ya, Ape
